Four Lectures on Noncommutative Dynamics
نویسندگان
چکیده
These lectures concern basic aspects of the theory of semigroups of endomorphisms of type I factors that relate to causal dynamics, dilation theory, and the problem of classifying E0-semigroups up to cocycle conjugacy. We give only a few proofs here; full details can be found in the author’s upcoming monograph Noncommutative Dynamics and E-semigroups, to be published in the Springer series Monographs in Mathematics.

Lectures on Noncommutative Geometry
These Lectures are based on a course on noncommutative geometry given by the author in 2003. The lectures contain some standard material, such as Poisson and Gerstenhaber algebras, deformations, Hochschild cohomology, Serre functors, etc. We also discuss many less known as well as some new results such as noncommutative Chern-Weil theory, noncommutative symplectic geometry, noncommutative diffe...
متن کاملKomaba Lectures on Noncommutative Solitons and D-Branes
These lectures provide an introduction to noncommutative geometry and its origins in quantum mechanics and to the construction of solitons in noncommutative field theory. These ideas are applied to the construction of D-branes as solitons of the tachyon field in noncommutative open string theory. A brief discussion is given of the K-theory classification of D-brane charge in terms of the K-theo...
متن کاملNoncommutative Geometry and Quantization
The purpose of these lectures is to survey several aspects of noncommutative geometry, with emphasis on its applicability to particle physics and quantum field theory. By now, it is a commonplace statement that spacetime at short length —or high energy— scales is not the Cartesian continuum of macroscopic experience, and that older methods of working with functions on manifolds must be rethough...
متن کاملAnomalies and Noncommutative Index Theory
These lectures are devoted to a description of anomalies in quantum field theory from the point of view of noncommutative geometry and topology. We will in particular introduce the basic methods of cyclic cohomology and explain the noncommutative counterparts of the Atiyah-Singer index theorem.
